It
is an unfortunate aspect of modern life that many relationships
breakdown. We are members of the Solicitors Family Law
Association
and are committed to dealing with matters in a way which
helps to preserve your dignity, encourages agreement and
avoids
unnecessary involvement with Courts.
We
believe that an agreed solution is more likely be achieved
at a lower emotional and financial cost and will be more successful
than one imposed on parties by the Court. We encourage parties
to consider on the needs of their children and recognise that
you will need to maintain a working relationship with the
other party in the future over arrangements for the children
whatever your differences may be. We recognise that relationship
breakdowns are a time of great emotional stress for all concerned,
particularly children. We hope that a constructive approach
will result in less hostility and resentment at the end of
the process and will allow parties to move on to form secure
new relationships and raise well adjusted children.
Our
approach to Family matters does not mean that we are not committed
to protecting your interests. We recognise that there is an
imbalance in some relationships which needs to be corrected.
A constructive approach is not a sign of weakness. It is firm
but fair. Some cases can only be resolved by asking the Court
to make a decision and if Court proceedings do become necessary
we will ensure that these are conducted as quickly and as
cost effectively as possible.
We
are able to advise you on all family matters including divorce
proceedings, family protection, children and financial matters.
We
recognise that costs are an important consideration for all
clients. We will discuss with you at
the outset of the case how our charges are calculated and
the likely costs involved.
